Every week we bring you a little round-up of cool stuff we've seen on the internet we think you might like. You know, just to keep you in the loop!
Inspired by construction set video games of the 80s and 90s, kids' app brand Tinybop introduce Infinite Arcade - a set of digital tools kids can use to build their own games. Choose a game template, like, say, pinball or pong or running then get creating settings and scenes, characters and stories. Fun, right? Something tells us you'll enjoy building Infinite Arcade worlds just as much as your kids will.
As if building computer games wasn't cool enough - we're counting down to the launch of this year's 'Build Your Own Pavillion' competition! Run by Serpentine Galleries and open to kids aged between 8 and 14, the competition is a fun opportunity for the budding young architect in your family to flex their creative muscles and plan their perfect pavilion. The Serpentine will announce full details of this year's competition and touring 'Build Your Own Pavilion' workshops any day now. Keep your eyes open (and get brainstorming!). Here's a selection of last year's entries to kick things off...
Created by a team of four young, Danish architects, 'a model' is a sample of how dreamy urban living could be! The model features a mixture of private and communal spaces and is designed to be changeable, flexible and future-proof. Catering to the lives and dreams of changing inhabitants, the model's sample features include a shared library, winter gardens, a greenhouse, a restaurant and specially designed family units. We're ready to move in. (If you happen to be in Venice, you can see the model in person at the Danish Pavillion as part of the the Venice Architecture Biennale 2016).
And as award-winning, London based design brand, Plumen, invite investors to help them bring us even more super-cool energy efficient light bulbs and snazzy interior design elements (pun 100% intended), we've spent a fair portion of our week drooling at these... 'Born Sleepy' has to be up there with our favourite product names!
